HAPPY NEW YEAR FAMILY!!

I’m looking forward to celebrating this new year with all of you! For those of you that don’t know, we ended 2023 with Complexities of Human Emotions-Cutters finally and successfully uploaded to Amazon. This year, our goal is to have the book in every library in the Chicagoland area, and with your help, we can make this goal a reality. All you need is the ISBN number from the back of your Cutters book (I’ll drop it below), and access to your library’s website. Once on the website, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Suggest a Purchase.” You’ll need to fill out the information on that page, and hopefully, once we get enough requests, the library will request the book! Again, I’ll need your help in this endeavor, and with your support, Cutters will be available to everyone. Thanks in advance! See you soon, and again, Happy New Year! Hope it’s your best one yet!

Hey family!

With the holiday season upon us, there are many people (family, friends, acquaintances), who struggle during this time of the year. Remember to be kind, patient and understanding. Not sure how? Here are some tips.

How to be Kind

-listen more

– be polite

-volunteer yourself

-choose your words wisely

– share the kindness you receive

How to be Patient

-be a good listener

-practice mindfulness

-slow down

– keep a journal

How to be Understanding

-take time to listen (listening seems to be the number one aspect of becoming a kinder, more understanding person).

-read body language

-ask questions

-be fully present

Let us all show more kindness these last few weeks of the year.

Sending my love! Happy Holidays!!

Hey family. So, Complexities of Human Emotions-Cutters has been out for a while now (I released the novel in January), and I can’t express how excited I’ve been to have had all the support I’ve had thus far. People have been excited for the book also, and I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from my readers. I’ve also gotten a lot of questions, and I’d like to take the time now to answer some of those questions so…let’s get into it!

Q-What inspired you to write Cutters?

A- Cutters was inspired by my own battle with self mutilation. I’d been a cutter for eight years before I stopped. The book was written a year after I quit.

Q- How long did it take you to write Cutters?

A- Cutters took me four months to complete.

Q- Who is your favorite character from the book, and why?

A- My favorite character from the book is Laura Daniels, and I think she was my favorite because-without giving anything away-her story is so sad and complex that it actually makes you feel and understand why she does what she does as far as self-mutilation goes. She’s the only character in the book that I wanted to be real so I could actually help her…I wanted to pull her out of the book and hug her.

Q- Are any of the characters based off of you and your story?

A- None of the characters are based on me personally, but I did infuse bits and pieces of my story throughout the entire book.

Whelp, hope I’ve answered a few of your burning questions about Cutters. Feel free to send in more questions, comments and thoughts under the “Talk to Me” tab.

See you soon!

Family, it’s time. Time to release Cutters-the first novel I wrote in 2009. It’s been two years since the release of Touched, and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to some of my favorite characters to date. Allow me to introduce you to: Complexities of Human Emotions-CUTTERS.

46-year-old Eddie Morales has just lost his job. With a new baby on the way and his marriage tearing at the seams, how far will Eddie go to conceal his lifelong affair with cutting? A bad breakup left 29-year-old Jessica Daniels both physically and mentally scarred-literally. Will a new boyfriend and the emergence of her younger sister Laura put Jessica on the path to life? 16-year-old Russell McVay used cutting as a way to express himself, but when he witnesses a horrific tragedy, how long will it be before Russell’s reasons for cutting changes? 22-year-old Taylor James grew up in a home with plenty of love, but as she heads off to college for the first time, Taylor is faced with hard decisions and tough realities; and pretty soon, she begins a spiraling descent into depression and self-medication. Laura Daniels has been living in a mental institution for the last two years. Will her continued pleas and cooperation in therapy be the catalyst for her release?  Although strangers, these five characters all share a common goal-finding ways to feel better without shedding any blood.

FAMILY!!!! THE BOOK IS FINALLY HERE! EEEEE!!! I’m so excited to share my work with you! As many of you know, this has been a LONG time coming! Welcome to my mind!

Touched is the first installment in the Complexities of Human Emotions series, and tells the story of Tiana Reed; a young woman reliving a traumatic childhood experience. The fictional novel will take you through Tiana’s journey of healing, love and forgiveness.

My journey of writing Touched began in January of 2015 and ended in February of 2016. During that time, I got to know Tiana and surprisingly enough, I learned more about myself. I hope you all enjoy reading the novel as much as I enjoyed writing it. My hope is that it softens your heart at the way you/we look at and treat others whom we know nothing about. Everyone is fighting their own battle. Let’s be kinder to each other.

Love.
